RE: St. Andrews State Park

Everyone who camps in the south during hurricane season needs to have a weather radio.

RE: Interesting RV Photos.

Wonderful photos. I've always wanted to take a double-decker bus and turn it into an RV. The top floor alone would be my bedroom/lounge. The bottom would have the living room, kitchen and bath.

RE: Halloween decorations at your campsite

If you have a Michael's craft store nearby, go check out all their Halloween goodies. Or, you can visit their website for ideas. Michael's Arts and Crafts This lantern would be cute sitting on the picnic table. :) http://www.michaels.com/online/images/product/thumb/sb0822.jpg

RE: Full Timing with small children.....FAIR?

IMHO that's a primary problem with homeschooling in general. Kids don't learn how to properly deal with situations such as crowded spaces, handling a bully, life experiences. Taking them on the road would be the next step as they wouldn't have any long term friends. On the flip side, the kids won't learn bad habits from other kids who aren't properly raised.

RE: This could be fun at Lake campsites

It's for catching fish up to 2 pounds. What if you catch a 6 pounder? Will the boat release the line? Will the fish swim around with the hook, line and boat for the rest of its days?

RE: Florida campgrounds at Christmas

My first winter in Orlando? Got down to 18 degrees. I second the idea for the Keys.

RE: Bought my first camper!

Better check state laws. I believe brakes are required on trailers weighing over 2,000 lbs. OHIO TRAFFIC RULES

RE: westmoreland state park virginia

Used to live 5 miles north of it. Nice park. But do NOT go swimming in the Potomac River. It's too polluted.

RE: OOOPS! Spilled Grape Juice On Carpet

I had a professional carpet cleaner clean my house once. He was buffing over the carpet with that solvent they use and dark splotchy stains were revealed. Then he asked if I ever used Resolve. I did. He told me that Resolve was one of the worst products to use because it leaves a residue behind that attracts dirt deep inside the carpet. I saw what he meant by the dark splotches, which eventually came out.

RE: What I've done so far since we began full-timing in May

Isn't it wonderful to realize you don't "need" a sticks & bricks house with all the stuff to be happy? I retire next March and can't wait to give up all the stuff and hit the road.

RE: How to Get Adhesive Off of Fiberglass Finish?

Naphtha (lighter fluid) is what is used to clean surfaces prior to painting. It'll remove tape residue easily from fiberglass. Be careful using it on plexiglass - it could cause crazing (fine, hairline cracks).

RE: What state to register my new trailer...SD or CO?

Thanks for the info and comments. I will be paying the taxes for CO, as I cannot get away from that. :( :) Mav You'll have to pay sales tax, but that's all. Military personnel are exempt from paying personal property type taxes in states other than their Home of Record. It's part of the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act (SCRA). I got tax bills every year from the Virgina city I lived in and every year I sent them my LES with a note that I don't have to pay.

RE: How MUCH pumpkin?

My own doctor said, "Its never a good idea to stop diarrhea. The body is trying to make the bad stuff leave. Why stop it?" I saw his point and apply it to my dog, too. I just make sure he has plenty of fresh water to drink. And if it lasts more than a couple of days, we go to the vet.

Let sleeping dogs lie. i.e. never wake a Chihuahua up from a sound sleep unless you want missing fingers. :B

RE: What are your best tips and tricks while camping?

Always have an ICE (In Case of Emergency) number in your cell phone in case someone needs to contact that person on your behalf.
